Welcome to Twisted Limb Photography, a website created to share unique visions and photographic works of Tim Lastowski. His work has been called "unique" and "clever," and Tim himself has been called "someone whose eye catches the details others miss."

Mr. Lastowski does a lot of his work on film and mostly uses black and white. Though he does work with color and digital, Tim prefers the look and quality of black and white. Although Tim’s images are mostly landscapes and portraits, he also creates a few still life shots and enjoys working with wildlife. He does a lot of his shooting at Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke. A short drive from his home in the more urban part of the city, he considers the reservoir to be a lost wonderland forgotten by most of the city. His photos are not the usual clichéd images that you would expect people to take pictures of, though there are times where he can’t resist taking a common image and applying some new manipulation. Tim’s landscape images display scenes often overlooked by passers-by. Tim hopes that by sharing his eye with the world, he can encourage others to take time to truly appreciate their surroundings.

Tim Lastowski was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, in 1981. He has an Associate’s degree in photography from Holyoke Community College. Tim has been taking photographs since 1999 when he started off with a 2.1 megapixel digital camera. He has since then vastly approved his equipment and ability to make quality photographs. Tim works continuously in a darkroom, and tones a lot of his images using various toners including Sepia, Selenium, and even Tea to stain images. He enjoys printing his c-prints on warmtone semi-matte paper. He prefers to shoot with 50 speed film, but from time to time will use other speeds.

The photographer sets prices for his images and also decides what options (paper selection, size, distortion, tone, etc) are available. A Message from the Photographer:

I enjoy the simple, almost forgotten part of landscape photography. I look at things that others might never see, or that they might think are not worth seeing. My goal is to share the beauty they might not notice. I hope that that next time they look, they can see the beauty that I always perceive in nature. Slow down and look at everything you pass, because you never know what you might be missing. The beauty of this world is what our eyes can visualize, not what our eyes can see.
